Apple Valley is well served by a modern, well coordinated highway system . Interstate 15, which runs north and south, extends southward connecting with Interstates 10 and 215 and State Routes 60 and 91, ending in San Diego; and northbound to Las Vegas and also connecting with State Route 58 and Interstate 40. state Route 18 is the major northern east-west corridor in Apple Valley, and its proposed realignment, along with intermodal transportation facilities in Barstow (20 min.) and San Bernardino (40 min.) will significantly enhance the region's already formidable presence in the transporting of goods and services into and out of the Los Angeles basin.
The Town is also served by Apple Valley Airport, a general aviation airport with a 6,500-foot runway stressed to handle DC-9s and Boeing 727s. For increased utility and safety, a 4,500-foot cross-wind runway was recently completed. Southern California International Airport is but ten miles from the Town and poised to become the region's preeminent air cargo facility.
